Live Edge Slabs

​​​After we salvage our logs, they make the trip to our sawmill. There, we examine each log and decide how we will accentuate its unique characteristics. We plane saw our logs or quarter/ rift saw our logs with final slab thicknesses ranging from 1 inch to 4 inches. Slabs are first air dried, and then we place them in our passive solar kiln to complete the drying process. The final moisture content ranges from 7% to 12%.  After drying, the slabs patiently wait for their transformation.
